Series One.
Eight chapters, all released at once, ending with a profit of one hundred and forty-four pounds. The naming system arrives fully formed — Tractoring, Sheeping, Shopping — and then produces Pan (dem) icking, which announced that this was going to be more carefully made than anybody expected.
The eight chapters.
The year he tried to farm it himself.
Series One — The year he tried to farm it himself.
In order.
Tractoring
The first chapter, and the one that established the whole register — a man with a very large tractor discovering that a field is bigger than it looks and a gate is narrower.
Read the chapterSheeping
The first proper lesson in how much a farmer does not know, delivered by animals with no interest in teaching it gently.
Read the chapterShopping
Forty tonnes of accidental potatoes needed a buyer. A shed got a till. That shed is now the Diddly Squat Farm Shop and the single most profitable decision in the entire run.
Read the chapterWilding
The first serious engagement with the unfarmed parts of the holding — the idea that would eventually become Chapter 17.
Read the chapterPan (dem) icking
The clearest single demonstration of the naming system’s ambition. Most title sequences would have called this one "Lockdown".
Read the chapterFluffing
The chickens arrive, and the register-collision principle gets its first proper outing.

| Chapter | Title | Operation | The wordplay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tractoring | G1 | A farm noun, verbed. Nobody tractors. That is the joke. |
| 2 | Sheeping | G1 | Sheep, verbed. Also not a word. |
| 3 | Shopping | G1/G2 | Both retail and the act of opening a shop. The pun is quiet and it works. |
| 4 | Wilding | G1 | To wild. A real conservation term, used as a gerund. |
| 5 | Pan (dem) icking | G3 | The typographic intervention. Brackets surgically expose "dem" inside "panicking" to produce "pandemic". The type is the gag. |
| 6 | Melting | G2 | A real word doing two jobs — heat, and losing your composure. |
| 7 | Fluffing | G2 | Chickens, and a second meaning best left where it is. |
| 8 | Harvesting | G1 | The only straight word in Series One, saved for the finale. |

Chapter forty-one is this platform. The ledger carries on from there, and every number granted is logged permanently in Recording.
Because the production files do not reset either. Peepshow named theirs CF4_CH26_Pubbing. It is one continuous work, and we number it as one.
