The hardest table in Oxfordshire.
Sunday roast, served noon until half past six. Tables release on the first of the month for the whole of the following month, and the Sunday ones go within minutes.
Sunday
British meat, roasted properly, with everything that ought to come with it.
The meatless roast is a genuine dish rather than the same plate with a gap in it.
How to actually get one.
Set an alarm for the first of the month
Not the morning of. The first. Tables for the whole following month go live and Sundays are gone in minutes.
Have the booking page already open
Refreshing from a cold start costs you the table.
Take any time offered
Half twelve and quarter past two are both perfectly good times to eat a roast.
If you miss it, come anyway
The bar, the garden, the Tent and the Puppy are all walk-in, every day, and none of them require an alarm.
The no-show fee is real
Thirty-five pounds a head for a no-show or a cancellation inside twenty-four hours. Given how many people wanted that table, we make no apology for it whatsoever.
Walk in instead.
The garden bars and the Tent take no bookings and never have.
What people actually ask.
The two questions this page gets most, answered without a support ticket.
Every ingredient on the menu is from these islands. It is the whole point of the place, and it is the reason there is no lemon in the gin and tonic.
The garden bars are walk-in and always have been. The restaurant is not, and pretending otherwise only creates a queue of disappointed people.
Elsewhere on the estate.
