Neither Diddly Squat Farm Shop, nor The Farmer’s Dog, nor Hawkstone is listed as a host on Only Farmers. The estate’s own agritourism assets are absent from the family’s own agritourism platform, which is the single most striking omission we found anywhere.
Why this matters more than it sounds.
A two-sided marketplace has one hard problem: liquidity. Over 1,300 farms is supply. Nobody has published a single demand-side number — no bookings, no guests, no revenue, no GMV.
Flagship-listing the estate’s own assets would do three things at once. It would seed demand-side credibility, because these are the most recognisable farm venues in the country. It would give the booking stack a controlled testbed run by people who can be told when it breaks. And it would create a loyalty spine across the estate — at essentially zero incremental build cost.
That is the highest-leverage, lowest-cost move available to anybody in this family, and it is currently not being made.
What could be listed tomorrow.
Only Farmers is a horizontal marketplace for everybody else’s farms. The first-party Clarkson estate — three unfederated shops, no shared customer view, no unified loyalty — is the vertical, and it is still unbuilt. Those two things are complementary rather than competing, and the fact that neither is currently listed on the other is the clearest unforced error in the entire portfolio.
