Autumn. Combining, weather permitting.
Sunset and furrow. The busiest state on the farm and the warmest on the screen, and the only one where the ambient ticker changes several times a day because the weighbridge is actually producing numbers.
Autumn, in four numbers.
What changes on the site in autumn.

What is actually happening on the farm.
Harvest
Wheat, then oilseed rape, then the spring barley, then whatever is left and the weather it is left in.
The weighbridge runs
Which is where the live yield figure in the ticker actually comes from, and it is the only feed on this site that is genuinely interesting to watch.
Ploughing and cultivating
On the ground that gets ploughed, which is less of it every year.
Drilling winter wheat
Deliberately late — mid to end of October — to give the blackgrass less of a chance.
Hedge cutting resumes
From 1 September, and not a day before.
The state, side by side with the other three.
| Season | Field pigment | Secondary | Ambient line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spring | Moss #5C6B2F | Blossom #E9899E | Drilling spring barley |
| Summer | Corn #E9B93D | Moss-Lift #7A8C41 | Watching the wheat |
| Autumn — this one | Sunset #F0794A | Furrow #6B4A2E | Combining, weather permitting |
| Winter | Sky #7FB6D9 | Slate #5A656B | Hedging and walling |
The illustration set.
Every scene plate on this site is printed six times — reseeded land, re-inked sky, the subject nudged — and the autumn set is the one that comes forward for these three months.
Which of the six a given page gets is decided by the page path rather than at random, so a card thumbnail and the hero it links to always show the same plate, but twelve pages sitting in one grid show twelve different pictures.
Plotting flips to "Harvested" and the yield figure lands on every plot page, good or bad.
- Printed states
- Six per subject
- Chosen by
- Page path, deterministically
Stamped server-side
So the palette never flashes on load.
No TTL
The season is the clock. It cannot go stale.
Two tokens move
--season and --season-2. Nothing else.
Nothing depends on it
No price, no availability, no legal text.
