What you are actually buying.
Not a crop at all. Twenty metres of hedgerow, laid and maintained properly, which produces blackberries, habitat and agri-environment income. You get the jam and the annual photographs.
You are buying goods, at a fixed price, delivered in kind. You are not buying land, a lease, a share, or any right to a cash return. The farm retains full management control and full access throughout, and your plot is a promise about produce rather than a demised parcel of ground.
- Size: 20 metres
- Work: Laying and maintenance
- You receive: Blackberry jam, and photographs
- Also produces: Habitat and scheme income
- Season: Laid in winter
- Price: Fixed at purchase
The season, from your side.
You pay once
A fixed price, set now, never varied. Ring-fenced until delivery.
We drill it
With everything else, because a quarter acre farmed separately would be farmed badly.
You get updates
Photographs, a geotag, growth stages, and the field cameras.
We harvest it
Or, in a bad year, we do not, and the shared-risk policy triggers.
It arrives
In kind. Not as money, ever.
Not an investment
Plotting is a fixed-price forward purchase of produce, delivered in kind. It is not an investment, there is no cash return, no profit share, and no secondary market. We are emphatic about this because the alternative — paying people a cash share of a harvest they had no hand in managing — is an unauthorised collective investment scheme under section 235 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and a criminal offence.
What this plot is, and is not.

- A stated quantity of produce, delivered in kind
- Photographs, growth stages and the field cameras
- The shared-risk substitution, chosen before you pay
What you never get
- Any cash return, profit share or dividend
- Any share of the tonnage off that ground
- Any resale, transfer for value or secondary market
- Any exclusive possession of the land itself
The other plots
What happens if it fails?
Because in 2025 a great deal of it did. The policy, in plain English.
