Cereals is the biggest arable event in Britain — machinery, plots, agronomy, and several thousand people who farm for a living rather than watch programmes about it.
Hosting it here was a genuine test. A television audience will forgive a great deal. A field full of arable farmers looking at your crop plots will not, and they were looking at plots put in by Kaleb Cooper Contracting on ground that everybody present knew had lost money.
What it demonstrated is that the infrastructure for events on this site plainly exists, which makes it slightly odd that neither Diddly Squat nor the pub nor the brewery is listed as a host on Only Farmers — the family’s own agritourism marketplace, with over 1,300 farms on it. That remains the most obvious unforced omission across the whole estate.
