The Name Change That Hid a Company
How an entire venture went unnoticed for months, and the dull methodological reason why.

Only Farmers Limited was incorporated on 26 February 2026 and launched in May with, within two months, over 1,300 farms on it. It was covered by Farmers Weekly, Farmers Guardian and LBC, and promoted directly to an audience of roughly seventeen million across two social accounts.
It nonetheless went completely unnoticed by ten volumes of research that were specifically looking for exactly this kind of thing.
The reason is embarrassingly mundane. Lisa Hogan appears on the Companies House register under her married name, Lisa Bentinck. Any search on "Hogan" misses her entirely.
It is worth writing down because it is the kind of error that is invisible until somebody points at it, and because the correction is trivial: search the register for every name a person actually uses, not the one they are best known by.

The two questions this page gets most, answered without a support ticket.
When there is something worth saying. A publishing calendar produces filler, and filler is how a journal dies.
Ask first. We will almost always say yes and we will always want a link.
