Seasoning

One route, four completely different walks.

The same three and a half miles in March, July, October and January. The plates change, the palette changes, and about a third of what there is to look at stops existing.

Seasoning

The site changes with the real season, not with a campaign.

The illustration set and the palette on this walk follow the actual season at OX7. Nobody schedules it, nobody signs it off, and it changes whether or not there is anything to promote.

That means the walk you do in February is genuinely a different walk from the one in August, and the February one is emptier, colder and considerably more honest about what a farm is for most of the year.

It also means the plates are drawn four times over. Each stop has a spring, summer, autumn and winter version, which is four times the work and the only way to avoid a website that claims it is always June.

Four walks

The same twelve stops, four times over.

The gate Mud A queue Mud, and leaves Empty, and the best time to come
The farm shop Quiet The busiest month Busy to half term Quiet, and card only
The yard Pressure washing Grain trailers Drilling traffic Machinery, in bits

The spring Running hard Running Running Running. It always is

Seasoning

In short.

Four plate sets

Every stop drawn four times, which is four times the work.

Real season

Read from the date at OX7, not from a marketing calendar.

February

Emptier, colder, and the most honest version of the walk.

The same ground

Ten cameras, on the same fields, all year.

Watch the same ground live.

Ten cameras on the fields this walk crosses, running through whatever the weather does.

Wondering

What people actually ask.

The two questions this page gets most, answered without a support ticket.

The words are ours. The brands are not, and nothing here is licensed.

The cast page names every person and what they are actually responsible for, which is not always what the programme implies.

We use a small number of cookies to keep your basket upright and to work out which pages people actually read. We do not sell anything about you to anyone, because that would be a rotten way to behave.
