The parish that decided, by an actual vote, that meeting every month was more than anybody wanted. Six meets a year, better attended than most parishes manage in twelve.
The ground it covers.
Shropshire, Herefordshire and the border country west of the Severn. The boundary follows the landscape rather than the county line, which is why it looks wrong on an administrative map and right on a soil one.
It meets alternate months, first Monday, 7pm. The bar of the assembly rooms in Ludlow, alternate months, because the parish voted that monthly was too much.
Gwilym Pryce is the warden. Beef and sheep in the Clun valley. Keeps minutes, which no other warden does. The wardenship is unpaid, was not appointed by us, and can only be ended by the parish itself.

Suckler herd talk
Native breeds, mostly. Hereford, Welsh Black, and a long-running argument about both.
Direct selling clinic
Members who sell boxes of beef teaching members who want to. Prices discussed openly.
Minutes
Gwilym writes them up and posts them within two days, which means the people who could not come still get the meet.
Border walks
Offa’s Dyke sections, four a year, ending at a pub with a bus back.

I read the minutes, I have used the lending list twice and I have never been to a meet. Nobody has ever made me feel odd about that.
