What is kept

Everything the cameras kept.

Continuous footage lasts seven days and then it is gone. Stills are forever. This is what forever looks like: time-lapses, harvest records, and the fourteen clips people actually asked us to keep.

Recording

What is kept, and what is not.

Continuous footage from all ten cameras sits on a recorder in the farm office for seven days and is then overwritten. That is not a storage limitation we would like to fix. It is the policy, and the recorder is sized to enforce it.

Hourly stills are different. They are small, they are the raw material of every time-lapse here, and they are kept permanently. Roughly nine thousand frames a year across the estate, which at this resolution is a few gigabytes and no ethical problem at all.

The harvest record is kept forever because it is the farm’s own accounting document rather than footage: a weight, a moisture reading, a field name and a date.

Recording

Four things about what we keep.

Stills

Kept permanently, and small enough that this is easy.

Footage

Seven days, then overwritten. Enforced by the size of the recorder.

The harvest record

Kept forever, because it is an accounting document.

Faces

Never indexed, matched or tagged. There is no system that could.

The clips people asked us to keep.

Fourteen of them, ninety seconds each, including the swarm and the badgers.

Wondering

What people actually ask.

The two questions this page gets most, answered without a support ticket.

Public filings, published rankings and press reporting, each labelled on the page as a verified record, a founder claim or a third-party estimate.

The words are ours. The brands are not, and nothing here is licensed.

Snooping, briefly.

We use a small number of cookies to keep your basket upright and to work out which pages people actually read. We do not sell anything about you to anyone, because that would be a rotten way to behave.
