The one that is always on

The Yard.

The turning circle between the grain store, the workshop and the back of the shop. Nothing here is staged and nothing is scheduled. It is where the farm actually happens, and what mostly happens is reversing.

The one that is always on

What it is actually pointed at.

The camera is bolted to the gable of the grain store at four metres, pointed north-west across the concrete apron. In frame: the workshop door, the fuel bowser, two trailers that have not moved since 2023, and whichever tractor is in the way.

It is the busiest feed on the estate between seven and nine in the morning and it is the one people leave open in a browser tab while they work. That is not a guess. It is the only camera here with a median session over eleven minutes.

There is no audio. There is no pan, tilt or zoom for anybody outside the farm office. What you see is what the bracket points at, and nobody has touched the bracket since it went up.

Timing it

Worth watching when.

WhenWhat you get
07:00–09:00 The day starting. Deliveries, the shop team arriving, and somebody driving faster across concrete than concrete deserves.
12:30 onwards Nothing at all. The yard empties completely for about an hour and stays empty.
16:00–18:00 Machinery coming back in, and the daily argument about who left the workshop open.
After dark Infrared, a security light on a passive sensor, and a great many moths.
Seasoning

Across the year, on this camera.

January to March

Mud.

Genuine, structural mud, and a pressure washer running most Fridays.

April to June

Trailers going out to the fields, and lambs in the near pen for a fortnight.

July to August

Harvest traffic.

Grain trailers in and out from six until it is too damp to cut.

September to December

Quieter, and the only months of the year the concrete is visible.

Uptime is the rolling ninety-day figure. When the stream is not available this page shows the last good frame instead: The last good frame, stamped with the minute it was taken and the reason the feed stopped.

The rules

The four things every camera here promises.

Fixed

No pan, tilt or zoom for anybody outside the farm office.

Silent

No audio on this camera or any other.

Pointed at us

No footpath, no neighbour’s land, no public highway in frame.

Fallback

The last good frame, stamped with the minute it was taken and the reason the feed stopped.

What is worth watching this month.

A table of the whole year, camera by camera, so you are not opening ten tabs to find the one with something in it.
